Hadrian, 117-138. As (Copper, 24 mm, 9.00 g, 6 h), Rome, for circulation in Syria, circa 124-125. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Hadrian to right, seen from behind. Rev. COS III / S C Roma seated left on cuirass, right foot on helmet, holding Victory in her right hand and long scepter in her left; behind her, shield. BMC p. 438, note *. McAlee 551. RIC 759. RPC III online 3765.19 (this coin). A lovely example with an attractive dark patina and a fine portrait. Minor smoothing, otherwise, good very fine.
